Northshore Internship Program:

 

 

Accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of the American Psychological Association, the Erie Psychological Consortium provides an opportunity for doctoral candidates in clinical or counseling psychology to acquire the skills necessary to successfully practice in a healthcare, community mental health or private practice setting. Clinical experience is provided through an inpatient acute rehabilitation hospital, acute medical hospital, private practice and a community mental health setting. Interns will have an opportunity to collaborate with a variety of healthcare professionals and work as a member of a multi displinary team. Primary rotations will take place at Healthsouth Rehabilitation Hospital. UPMC Hamot Medical Center, Northshore Psychological Associates, and Safe Harbor Behavioral Health.  
Didactic opportunities include a monthly seminar in professional ethics, a monthly lecture on neuropsychology topics, attendance at Neurology Grand Rounds at UPMC Hamot Medical Center, general medical Grand Rounds at UPMC Hamot Medical Center, and various other topics during the training year. The interns attend a training in Harrisburg each fall on the subject of Ethics Education, and participate in a training regarding advocating for our profession, while attending Psychology Lobby Day in Harrisburg, advocating for issues pertaining to the career of psychology.  The Erie Psychological Consortium provides services to all age ranges.
